I was very embarrassed when I realised I had no idea what an Egret was. I found out my ignorance when a friend stated it was their favourite bird, and I replied,”Yes, there’s something about birds of prey isn’t there.” I think all birds have a primal quality to them, but the larger they are, the more Jurassic they seem. I’ve gone some way to remedying my lack of knowledge with this study. I’ll be doing more. The heron family are lovely birds to study.
